Learning with us

Bury Music Service is a not-for-profit organisation, and the only music education provider in Bury endorsed and supported by Arts Council England. We are also a strategic partner of the Greater Manchester Music Hub. Our professional music teachers are extremely passionate with a friendly and encouraging approach to learning. Our team are all fully qualified, highly trained and consistently deliver high exam pass rates.

We provide weekly lessons during the day (at school) and evenings (at the centre) from Year 2 upwards, and we’re proud to provide most of our instruments completely free of charge. We carry out graded testing with ABRSM and Trinity College London, and we hold annual parents’ evenings and provide progress reports.

Membership at Bury Music Centre is offered, with opportunities to join our renowned orchestras, bands, ensembles and choirs. We organise fantastic events throughout the year, and regular performances at prestigious venues such as the RNCM, Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Band on the Wall.

Our partners include The Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, Chetham’s School of Music, RNCM, University of Salford, Manchester Metropolitan University and Manchester Camerata.
